Ingredients
- Fish ( 300 gm cut in to pieces )
- Shallot ( chuvanulli, 5 nos, sliced )
- Ginger ( 1 tea spoon )
- Garlic ( 1 tea spoon )
- Tomato ( 1 sliced )
- Curry leaves
- Coconut oil ( 2 table spoon )
- Fenugreek ( 1 tea spoon )
- Chilly powder ( 2 table spoon )
- Coriander powder ( 1 table spoon )
- Turmeric powder ( 1 tea spoon )
- Pepper powder ( 1 tea spoon )
- Tamarind ( as needed for sour, soaked in water )
- Water ( as required )
- Coconut milk ( if needed, to avoid spicy flavor )
Process
Wash and clean the fish,keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan and add fenugreek.
Add chopped shallots, ginger and garlic.
Fry it until it turns brown.
Add tomato and curry leaves.
Add chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and pepper powder.
Stir it and fry it for a minute with low flame.
Add tamarind water in to it and add enough water.
Allow to boil.
Add fish pieces in to it.
Boil for few minutes.
Stop cooking when the fish pieces are cooked sufficiently and gravy is thick.
If needed coconut milk is added to it for better taste.
